چکیده

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) is a rapidly evolving technology for DTM generation. It exploits the coherent nature of SAR imaging to measure stereo parallaxes in the mm and cm regime from phase differences. InSAR systems are active microwave sensors; they operate independent of cloud cover and sun illumination. This paper reviews the basic principle and the properties of spaceborne SAR interferometers. It is shown how height accuracy and resolution depend on system parameters and temporal decorrelation behaviour of the imaged terrain. A brief overview of current and future SAR and InSAR systems is given.

Alpine Digital Elevation Models from Radar Interferometry - a Generic Approach to Exploit Multiple Imaging Geometries

The generation of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) has developed rapidly in the last 10 years. This new method proofed to be operational with the global success of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission in the year 2000 and with several companies offering regional topographic mapping campaigns based on airborne InSAR today. However, the current ...

Problems and Solutions for Insar Digital Elevation Model Generation of Mountainous Terrain

During the last decade, the techniques to generate digital elevation models (DEM) from SAR interferometry have been demonstrated and refined to a quasi-operational status using data from the ERS tandem mission. With this experience and an improved single-pass system concept, data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) acquired in 2000 have been used to produce a global DEM with unprec...

Study of subsidence of Abarkooh plain of Yazd using the Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry method

Abstract The population growth, the development of cities, industry, agriculture, and improper use of resources especially non-renewable resources have led human beings to face the danger of running out of resources. In some cases, in addition to the above, irreversible environmental and geological hazards have occurred due to the overdrawn of resources. Over extraction of groundwater resourc...

Backprojection SAR interferometry

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry uses the phase difference between two SAR antennas to obtain an elevation estimate of the imaged terrain. Using an initial digital elevation model (DEM), the time-domain backprojection algorithm implicitly removes the terrain height phase from images during image formation. The use of a DEM during image formation adds additional information to the p...

Assessment of digital elevation models using RTK GPS

A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) represents the height of a patch of terrain. Accuracies of DEMs vary depending upon the requirements of different applications. DEMs have been applied to a wide range of civil engineering and military planning tasks. Besides the conventional methods of creating DEMs, such as photogrammetry and manual field survey, airborne laser scanning and radar interferometry ...
